Microsoft has unveiled two new Surface Copilot+ PCs, the Surface Laptop 13-inch and the Surface Pro 12-inch, both powered by the advanced Snapdragon X Plus processors. These devices feature cutting-edge technology, including a dedicated Neural Processing Unit (NPU) capable of executing an impressive 45 trillion operations per second. The Surface Laptop is touted for its exceptional battery life, offering up to 23 hours of video playback on a single charge, while the Surface Pro boasts a versatile 2-in-1 design. The new models are set to begin shipping to select global markets later this month.
Microsoft Surface Laptop 13-inch, Surface Pro 12-inch Price, Availability
The Surface Laptop 13-inch is priced starting at $899 (approximately Rs. 76,000) and is available in three colors: Ocean, Platinum, and Violet. The Surface Pro 12-inch starts at $799 (around Rs. 67,000). Both devices are available for pre-order through the Microsoft website and major retailers such as Best Buy and Amazon in the US, with shipping commencing on May 20. However, availability in India has yet to be confirmed. Additionally, business customers can expect to access these new Surface devices starting July 22, which will come equipped with Windows 11 Pro and various security features tailored for corporate use.

The Surface Laptop 13-inch features a 13-inch full-HD touchscreen display with narrow bezels, making it Microsoft’s thinnest and lightest laptop to date. It includes an AI-enhanced camera with auto video HDR and noise reduction capabilities. Powered by the Snapdragon X Plus processor and featuring an integrated NPU capable of 45 TOPS, this model is claimed to be 50% faster than its predecessor, the Surface Laptop 5, and even outperforms Apple’s MacBook Air M3. Users can choose between 16GB and 24GB RAM options, along with storage capacities of 256GB and 512GB.
The laptop’s anodized aluminum chassis contributes to its sleek design, and it can be paired with the Surface Arc Mouse. It promises up to 23 hours of video playback and 16 hours of web browsing on a single charge, supporting fast charging via a USB Type-C port. Additional features include a fingerprint reader integrated into the power button and a dedicated Copilot key, along with a customizable precision touchpad.

The Surface Pro 12-inch offers a versatile 2-in-1 design, functioning as both a laptop and a tablet. It features a 12-inch touch display, an adjustable kickstand, and a detachable keyboard. Like its counterpart, it is powered by the Snapdragon X Plus processor and includes a 45 TOPS NPU. The device comes with 16GB LPDDR5x RAM and storage options of 256GB and 512GB.
Users can conveniently attach the Surface Slim Pen to the back of the Surface Pro for charging and storage. The detachable keyboard, available in Slate, Ocean, and Violet, includes a full-size backlit keyboard with dedicated Copilot and lock keys, along with a customizable precision touchpad featuring adaptive touch mode. Weighing just 0.68kg, the Surface Pro 12-inch is designed for portability and is said to provide all-day battery life on a single charge. Notably, Microsoft has opted not to include a charger in the box with these latest Surface devices.
