Webinars Enhance Public Administration Excellence Across India

The Prime Minister has directed the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) to facilitate a series of virtual webinars aimed at promoting excellence in public administration. Since April 2022, these engaging sessions have brought together District Collectors and other officials to learn from past winners of the Prime Minister’s Awards (PMA) for Excellence in Public Administration.

To date, 36 webinars have been conducted, each attracting about 1,000 participants, including officials from line departments, state governments, and training institutes. The latest, the 37th National Good Governance Webinar, took place on June 25, 2026, highlighting the Nashik District initiative awarded in 2023.

Nashik Showcases Award-Winning Initiative

This particular webinar focused on the sustainability and replication of initiatives recognized under the PMA. The session featured key presentations, including insights from Shri Jalaj Sharma, the former District Magistrate of Nashik and current Commissioner of the Nashik Metropolitan Region Development Authority. He shared details about the award-winning measures undertaken in Nashik District.

Additionally, the sustainability of these initiatives was discussed by Shri Ayush Prasad, the District Magistrate and Collector of Nashik. His presentation emphasized how these successful practices could maintain their impact over time.

Further expanding on the theme, Shri Vikas Meena, the District Collector of Yavatmal, illustrated how Nashik’s key initiatives could be replicated in his district, showcasing the potential for broader applications of these successful public administration strategies.

Widespread Participation and Engagement

The recent webinar was chaired by Shri Puneet Yadav, Additional Secretary of DARPG, and witnessed participation from senior officials across various Indian states and union territories. With attendees joining from over 640 locations, the event emphasized the collaborative spirit of administrative reforms. It included senior officials from Administrative Reforms Departments, District Collectors, and various training institutes, ensuring a robust exchange of ideas aimed at improving public service delivery.

This ongoing series of webinars reflects the government’s commitment to enhancing the efficiency of public administration through shared learnings and best practices, ultimately benefiting citizens across India.
