Strong November Car Sales: Maruti Suzuki Achieves Record High Among Top Performers

The Indian automobile industry has demonstrated impressive growth in November 2025, with major manufacturers reporting strong sales figures. This surge is attributed to consistent domestic demand, increased exports, and a notable rise in electric vehicle adoption. As the year draws to a close, these developments reflect a revitalized industry benefiting from improved supply conditions and favorable government policies, including recent GST reforms that have positively influenced sales.

Maruti Suzuki Sets New Sales Record

Maruti Suzuki India Limited achieved a remarkable milestone in November 2025, recording its highest-ever monthly sales of 229,021 units. This figure includes 174,593 units sold domestically, 8,371 units sold to other original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), and a record 46,057 units exported. Compared to November 2024, when total sales were 181,531 units, this represents a significant year-on-year increase. The company’s domestic passenger vehicle sales also saw a rise, climbing from 141,312 to 170,971 units. For the April-November period of FY 2025-26, Maruti Suzuki’s combined domestic and export sales reached 1,528,650 units, up from 1,451,383 units in the previous fiscal year. This growth underscores India’s increasing importance as a manufacturing hub for the automaker.

Hyundai India Reports Strong Growth

Hyundai Motor India Limited also experienced a positive month, reporting total sales of 66,840 units in November 2025, marking a 9.1% increase from the previous year. Domestic sales accounted for 50,340 units, while exports surged by 26.9% to reach 16,500 units. Tarun Garg, the Wholetime Director and COO, attributed this growth to the supportive environment created by GST 2.0 reforms. He emphasized the company’s commitment to enhancing India’s role as a global manufacturing hub. Additionally, the launch of the all-new Hyundai VENUE, the company’s first software-defined vehicle in India, has set new benchmarks in the compact SUV segment, garnering over 32,000 bookings within a month of its release.

Tata Motors Sees Significant Increase in Sales

Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. reported a total of 59,199 units sold in November 2025, reflecting a substantial 25.6% increase from 47,117 units in the same month last year. Domestic passenger vehicle sales, which include electric vehicles, rose by 22% to 57,436 units. The company’s international business also flourished, with exports increasing to 1,763 units from just 54 units in the previous year. Notably, electric vehicle sales surged by 52.1% year-on-year, reaching 7,911 units, highlighting the growing acceptance and adoption of EVs in India.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor Experiences Growth

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) reported total sales of 33,752 units in November 2025, which includes 30,085 units sold domestically and 3,667 units exported. This marks a 28% increase from the 26,323 units sold in November 2024. Varinder Wadhwa, Vice President of Sales-Service-Used Car Business at TKM, noted that the positive momentum following a successful festive season, supported by the government’s progressive GST reforms, has contributed to this growth. The recent introduction of the Urban Cruiser Hyryder Aero Edition and Fortuner Leader Edition has also played a role in reinforcing this upward trend, receiving widespread recognition across the country.
