Anandji Virji Shah, an Indian music director. Together with his brother he formed the Kalyanji-Anandji duo and won the 1975 Filmfare Award for Best Music Director, for Kora Kagaz. He is a recipient of the civilian honor of Padma Shri. He was born on 2 March 1933 in Gujarat, India.
Vidyasagar is an Indian composer, musician, and singer. He works in the Malayalam, Telugu, and Tamil film industries. He is nicknamed “The Melody King”. He worked in over 220 films. He is the recipient of the National Award and five Filmfare Awards. He was named after the 19th-century social reformer Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar. He was born on 2 March 1963 in Andhra Pradesh, India.
Gayatri Asokan, a playback singer. She works in Malayalam cinema. She was born on 2 March 1979.

Death Anniversary on 2 March
2 March in Indian history is observed as the death anniversary of the following personalities:
Chandra Kumar Agarwala is an eminent writer, poet, and journalist from Assam. Agarwala was titled Pratimar Khonikor in Assamese literature. He died on 2 March 1938 in Assam, India.
Sarojini Naidu (13 February 1879 – 2 March 1949), was a political activist and ardent supporter of Civil rights and women’s emancipation. She was famously known for her struggle during the Indian independence movement. She was bestowed the title of “Nightingale of India” or “Bharat Kokila” by Mahatma Gandhi because of her lyrical quality. She was born in Hyderabad. She got her education in various parts of the World including Madaras, London, and Cambridge. After completing her education, she joined the Indian National Congress and became a follower of Mahatma Gandhi. She was elected as President of the Indian National Congress in 1925 and later became Governor of the United Province in 1947, becoming the first woman to hold the office of Governor in the Dominion of India. She died of cardiac arrest on 2 March 1949 at the Government House in Lucknow.
