The Significance of Surpanakha in the Epic
In the Ramayana, Surpanakha is known as the sister of Ravana. Her encounter with Rama and Lakshman during their exile is a crucial moment in the narrative, setting off a series of events that ultimately lead to the conflict between Rama and Ravana. This makes Surpanakha an integral part of the epic’s larger storyline, adding depth to her character and the overall plot.
The film boasts an impressive cast, featuring Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, and Ravi Dubey as Lakshman. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana is produced by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios in collaboration with DNEG and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations.
