Among the notable research initiatives, Dr. Singh mentioned work on oral insulin nanoparticles and innovative nanobots aimed at treating breast cancer. He noted that past challenges in oral insulin absorption may find solutions through advancements in nanotechnology.
India’s nanomedicine ecosystem is seeing growth beyond laboratory research, with substantial government backing for startups and businesses in this domain. The Biotechnology Innovation Research Assistance Council (BIRAC) offers funding programs to help emerging biotech firms reach market readiness.

With a solid regulatory framework established for nanopharmaceuticals, developed collaboratively by the Department of Biotechnology, ICMR, and CDSCO, India is well-positioned to lead innovations in healthcare solutions.
