Limited, a leading manufacturer of premium-grade sodium bicarbonate, for EUR 25 million. This acquisition, executed through Tata Chemicals International Pte. Limited, TCL’s wholly owned subsidiary, marks a strategic move to bolster its presence in a high-demand market driven by healthcare and food applications.

The acquisition, formalized through a Share Purchase Agreement, aligns with TCL’s broader strategy to expand into non-cyclical, high-value product segments. The Managing Director and CEO of TCL highlighted that Novabay’s emphasis on specialty sodium bicarbonate closely mirrors TCL’s vision of enhancing its capabilities to meet premium customer needs more effectively.

Operating as one of the largest producers of premium sodium bicarbonate in the Asia-Pacific region (excluding China), Novabay excels in supplying high-value grades essential for various key industries including pharmaceuticals, personal care, and food. The company’s facility boasts stringent Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) certifications, ensuring a commitment to quality supported by advanced automated production capabilities.

Novabay currently has a production capacity of around 60,000 tons, with plans to scale up to 100,000 tons in response to increasing market demand.
