Ladakh Officially Maps 28 New Geographical Features

The Government of India, in collaboration with the Union Territory of Ladakh, has officially designated twenty-eight geographical features on the map of Ladakh. This initiative aims to enhance public awareness and promote accurate recognition of these locations within the Union Territory.

These identified places, which encompass a range of landforms including peaks, mountains, and lakes, are now formally marked on the official Survey of India map. This mapping effort is expected to facilitate better navigation and geographical understanding for both residents and visitors to the region.

The twenty-eight identified features include notable landmarks such as Atisha Giri, a prominent peak, and Guru Rinpoche, a significant lake. The full list of newly recognized features includes a mix of natural wonders, from glaciers to mountains, thereby showcasing the diverse geography of Ladakh.
