Bid on Unique Mementos in Support of Namami Gange Project

The 8th edition of PM Mementos is now open for public bidding until October 31, 2026. This special auction features a collection of 30 unique gifts and artifacts presented to the Prime Minister, showcasing the rich diversity of Delhi. Proceeds from the auction will contribute to the Namami Gange Project, which aims to clean and conserve the Ganges River.

A Diverse Collection of Artifacts

The auction offers an eclectic mix of artworks, religious items, and institutional memorabilia. Among the 30 mementos are nine framed photographs, nine unique mementos, and six sculptures and idols. Additionally, the collection boasts two models of the Delhi Metro, a piece of sports memorabilia, and various art and craft items, making it a treasure trove for collectors and history enthusiasts alike.

Religious and Cultural Significance

Several items celebrate India’s rich religious traditions. This includes four mementos depicting Lord Ram and scenes from the Ramayana, such as a beautiful Ram Darbar sculpture, a brass plaque featuring Ram, Sita, and Lakshman in a river scene, and a carved wooden statue of Ram Lalla. There’s also a representation of the Eight Auspicious Symbols of Buddhism, recognized for their spiritual depth and association with enlightenment.

Highlighting Delhi’s Heritage

The collection captures the essence of Delhi’s institutions and landmarks. A framed artwork celebrates St. Stephen’s College, while a crystal memento of the Old Secretariat and textile art representing the New Parliament Building illustrate the city’s rich institutional heritage. Each piece is a reminder of Delhi’s vibrant history and cultural landscape.

Celebrating Public Service and Achievement

Among the mementos representing achievement and public life is a meticulously detailed pencil sketch of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, created by a talented student from Rohini. Sporting achievements are represented by a discus from Paralympic silver medalist Yogesh Kathuniya, while the NCC’s gold-polished Param Vir Mati Kalash reflects the spirit of service and remembrance. An artistic portrait crafted on a skeletonized Bodhi leaf adds an exceptional personal touch to the collection.

This collection of mementos tells a story of Delhi, celebrating its people and institutions while contributing to a noble cause. The auction not only offers a chance to own a piece of history but also supports the vital work of the Namami Gange Project.
