Over 10,800 Kg of Narcotics Destroyed in Madhya Pradesh

The Central Bureau of Narcotics (CBN) in Madhya Pradesh has successfully disposed of a significant quantity of seized narcotic drugs in an operation held at Vikram Cement, Khor. Yesterday’s operation saw the destruction of a staggering 10,842.150 kg of narcotics, adhering to legal procedures under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act of 1985.

The disposal was conducted with strict oversight from the Drug Disposal Committee and included representatives from the Madhya Pradesh Pollution Control Board to ensure compliance with environmental standards. In addition to the destroyed narcotics, the CBN deposited 154.375 kg of seized opium at the Government Opium and Alkaloid Works in Neemuch.

Details of the Destroyed Narcotics

The categories of drugs included:

  • Poppy Straw: 10,823.990 kg
  • Mephedrone: 3.175 kg
  • Charas: 7.400 kg
  • Heroin: 7.535 kg
  • Brown Sugar: 0.050 kg

This comprehensive operation is part of CBN’s ongoing efforts to combat the illicit drug trade. The responsible destruction of seized narcotics ensures that these substances do not re-enter the illicit trafficking network, aligning with the agency’s commitment to maintaining public safety and health.
