SRK Classics and ’12th Fail’ Set to Dazzle in Inflatable Theatres at IFFI 2025

Imagine experiencing the magic of cinema in a fully equipped inflatable theatre, where iconic performances come to life. The 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI), set to take place in Goa from November 20 to November 28, will feature this innovative cinematic experience. In a unique collaboration, the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) and the Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG) have teamed up with PictureTime Digiplex to introduce state-of-the-art inflatable cinemas, showcasing a diverse lineup of films, including classics starring Shah Rukh Khan and contemporary hits.

Innovative Cinematic Experience

PictureTime Digiplex, known for its pioneering work in mobile digital theatres, will install an inflatable cinema at the Kala Academy campus, one of the festival’s main venues. This initiative aims to enhance the festival experience by providing audiences with a unique way to enjoy films. The inflatable theatre will screen a variety of films across four categories: Inspirational Films, Indian Panorama Classics, Nostalgia, and Children’s Cinema. This setup not only brings the joy of cinema to festival-goers but also aims to reach underserved communities, making high-quality film experiences accessible to a broader audience.

Star-Studded Lineup

For the first time, three classic films featuring Shah Rukh Khan—*Chak De! India*, *Darr*, and *Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge*—will be screened in the inflatable theatres. The lineup also includes acclaimed titles such as Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s *12th Fail*, the Malayalam hit *Manjummel Boys*, and Rani Mukerji’s *Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway*. Other notable films include *Uunchai*, *Salaam Bombay!*, and *Qissa*, alongside timeless classics from renowned directors like Satyajit Ray and Yash Chopra. This diverse selection reflects the rich tapestry of Indian cinema, catering to various tastes and preferences.

Special Screenings for Children

In addition to the main screenings, the festival will host special daily screenings for school children, featuring films like *Kaphal: Wild Berries*, *Gattu*, and *Banarasi Jasoos*. These screenings aim to introduce young audiences to the world of cinema, fostering an appreciation for storytelling and film as an art form. By engaging children and students, the festival hopes to cultivate a new generation of film enthusiasts who will carry forward the legacy of Indian cinema.

Community Engagement and Accessibility

Beyond the main venue, PictureTime will also facilitate open-air screenings across various locations in North and South Goa. This initiative aims to ensure that local residents can enjoy festival films, further democratizing access to cinema. Sushil Chaudhary, Founder and CEO of PictureTime Digiplex, expressed pride in collaborating with NFDC and ESG for IFFI. He emphasized the importance of bringing high-quality film experiences to audiences who may not have had access to such opportunities before. The inflatable theatre at Kala Academy is expected to attract over 1,000 visitors daily, while open-air screenings are projected to draw an additional 300 to 400 viewers per location. This commitment to inclusivity and innovation underscores the festival’s dedication to celebrating the power of storytelling in Indian cinema.
