PMFME Conclave 2026 Highlights Innovations in Food Processing
The Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) successfully wrapped up the PMFME Conclave 2026 held on 24-25 August at the India Habitat Centre in New Delhi. This engaging two-day event focused on sharing best practices, enhancing stakeholder skills, and recognizing excellence within the Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) Scheme.
Gathering over 500 stakeholders from across the nation, the conclave featured representatives from various States and Union Territories, including State Nodal Departments, banks, financial institutions, and PMFME beneficiaries. This diverse assembly aimed to foster collaboration and bring new insights into the effective implementation of the PMFME Scheme.
Showcasing Best Practices and Innovative Approaches
The second day began with an enlightening PMFME Experience Sharing Session. Five States presented their successful practices and implementation experiences, providing valuable lessons from the field. District Nodal Officers (DNOs) and District Resource Persons (DRPs) shared their firsthand insights, emphasizing innovative strategies and successful interventions that have proven effective at the grassroots level.
Technical Support and Capacity Building
In a session titled “NIFTEMs – State-of-the-Art Facilities – Handholding PMFME Implementation,” Dr. Harinder Singh Oberoi and Prof. V. Palanimuthu discussed the vital role of technical institutions in offering technology and training to support micro food processing enterprises. Additionally, a training session on SNA Sparsh was held to enhance the capabilities of State-level stakeholders, further empowering them to execute the PMFME Scheme effectively.
The conclave also featured a motivational address by leadership expert Shri Shiv Khera, who inspired attendees with insights on entrepreneurship and achieving success.
Honoring Excellence with PMFME Awards
A standout moment of the conclave was the PMFME Award Ceremony, which recognized the outstanding contributions of various stakeholders. Awards were presented to top-performing States and Union Territories across different categories, alongside accolades for banks playing pivotal roles in the scheme’s advancement. Additionally, the contributions of State Rural Livelihood Missions (SRLMs) and State Urban Livelihood Missions (SULMs) were also acknowledged.
Exemplary DNOs and DRPs were honored, with awards going to the top performers from Large, Medium, and Small States/UTs for their dedication and exemplary service.

The conclave served as a critical platform for showcasing the successes of PMFME beneficiaries while reinforcing market connections. By creating opportunities for collaboration and recognition, the event underscored the Ministry’s ongoing commitment to developing a stronger, inclusive, and market-oriented ecosystem for micro food processing enterprises, aiding their growth into sustainable and competitive players in the industry.
