Operation Sindoor: Multiple Airports Across India Temporarily Closed

Several airports across India are experiencing significant disruptions in air travel following India’s missile strikes on terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. As a result, 27 airports have closed for commercial flights until 5:29 AM on May 10, leading to the cancellation and rescheduling of hundreds of flights by major airlines, including IndiGo, Air India, and SpiceJet. Major Airlines Respond to Disruptions

Airlines have swiftly responded to the airport closures by canceling flights and offering flexible options for affected passengers. Air India has announced the cancellation of flights to and from several key destinations, including Jammu, Srinagar, and Amritsar, until the specified reopening time. The airline is providing passengers with the option of a one-time waiver on rescheduling fees or a full refund for canceled flights. Similarly, IndiGo, the largest airline in India, has canceled over 165 flights and is allowing affected travelers to reschedule or receive a full refund without additional charges.

Additional Airline Measures

Air India Express has also suspended flights to and from several airports, including Jammu and Srinagar, until the same reopening time. The airline is offering full refunds and rescheduling waivers for defense personnel holding special fares. Akasa Air has suspended all flights to and from Srinagar, providing passengers with full refunds and the option to reschedule flights at no extra cost. SpiceJet has confirmed that flights to and from Dharamshala, Leh, and other affected airports are suspended until further notice, advising passengers to stay updated through official channels.
