India’s President Launches #SkillTheNation Challenge to Elevate AI Education

In a significant step towards enhancing India’s artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities, President Droupadi Murmu has launched the #SkillTheNation Challenge. This initiativeaims to galvanize citizens, educators, and professionals to engage actively in the AI learning movement through the SOAR (Skilling for AI Readiness) course offered on the Skill India Digital Hub (SIDH).

Building a Future-Ready Workforce

The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship’s esteemed SOAR programme, which commenced in July 2025, provides structured micro-credential courses tailored for various demographics, including school students and working professionals. With an emphasis on making AI learning simple, ethical, and responsible, the programme has made significant strides, registering over 1.59 lakh learners in mere six months.
