1 April – Odisha Foundation Day

Odisha Day also known as Utkala Dibasa, is celebrated in Odisha on 1 April to commemorate the state’s formation as a separate state from Bihar and Orissa Province with the addition of Koraput and Ganjam from the Madras Presidency in 1936.

1 April – April Fool’s Day

The first day of the Month is Observed as April Fools’ Day. It is a tradition consisting of practical jokes and hoaxes. Jokers often reveal their tricks by shouting “April Fools!” at the recipient. It is possible for mass media to be involved in these pranks, which may be revealed as such the following day.

2 April – World Autism Awareness Day

4 April – International Day of Mine awareness

In 2005, the General Assembly declared 4 April as International Day for Mine Awareness and Assistance in Mine Action. 5 April – National Maritime Day

On 5th April, India celebrates National Maritime Day. The day is celebrated to honor the men who spend many months in the sea carrying out India’s trade and commerce around the world. National Maritime Day has been observed in India since 1964. SS Loyalty, the first Indian flag merchant ship, sailed from Mumbai to London on this date in 1919, which is why this day is celebrated on April 5 every year.

6 April – International Day of Sport for Development and Peace

The International Day of Sport for Development and Peace (IDSDP), which occurs annually on 6 April, is a celebration of the role sport and physical activity play in communities and in people’s lives around the world.

14 April – Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Jayanti

15 April – World Art Day

17 April – World Haemophilia Day
