Discover India’s Handloom Heritage at the ‘Weaves of India’ Festival
The Ministry of Textiles, through the Office of the Development Commissioner (Handlooms), is set to host the ‘Weaves of India’ Festival at the Central Cottage Industries Emporium (CCIE) located on Janpath in New Delhi. This vibrant celebration will take place from 24 July to 7 August 2026, coinciding with the upcoming 12th National Handloom Day on 7 August. The event aims to honor India’s unique and diverse handloom traditions.
A Showcase of Heritage Weaves
The festival promises a captivating showcase of handwoven creations, featuring a total of 116 heritage weaves from various regions across the country. Attendees will have the chance to appreciate the remarkable craftsmanship and artistic skills preserved by generations of Indian weavers. Iconic weaving traditions on display will include the exquisite Banarasi, delicate Jamdani, luxurious Kanchipuram Silk, vibrant Sambalpuri Ikat, refined Paithani, intricately designed Kani Pashmina, and many others.

The festival serves as more than just an exhibition of textiles; it seeks to deepen public appreciation for authentic handloom products. The event aims to raise awareness around sustainable, ethical, and artisan-led production practices.
