Gold and Crude Oil Prices Surge Amid Geopolitical Tensions

On the trading floor, both gold and crude oil have witnessed notable price increases, driven by heightened geopolitical concerns and economic indicators. Gold and silver prices experienced a surge on Tuesday, reaching record highs amidst marked intraday fluctuations.

Bullion Market Insights

The precious metals market reacted strongly to a robust U.S. GDP report that initially dampened prices. However, the metals rallied later in the day, bolstered by ongoing safe-haven demand during this holiday-shortened week. The current geopolitical tension, particularly the strained relations between the U.S. and Venezuela, continues to prop up prices.

Analysts indicate that gold is currently supported at levels between $4465 and $4415, while facing resistance within the range of $4545 to $4570. Conversely, silver is projected to find support at $70.40 to $69.75, with resistance expected between $72.00 and $72.90. In the Indian market, gold’s support stands at ₹1,36,550 to ₹1,35,710, while resistance is seen at ₹1,38,650 to ₹1,39,470. For silver, support is located at ₹2,18,150 to ₹2,16,780, and resistance awaits at ₹2,21,810 to ₹2,22,970.

Crude Oil Price Analysis

In the crude oil sector, prices continued to climb, marking a five-day winning streak largely influenced by rising geopolitical risks. Ongoing tensions relating to Venezuela and recent hostilities targeting Black Sea energy infrastructure have raised supply concerns, albeit with limited global ramifications at this moment. The U.S. military’s increased activity near Venezuela, coupled with the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict, has added a risk premium to the market, despite American Petroleum Institute (API) inventory reports indicating a healthy supply curve.

Market analysts predict that crude oil prices may remain volatile today, with support levels set at $57.80 to $57.00 and resistance anticipated between $59.00 and $59.70. In the Indian context, support for crude oil prices is established at ₹5,180 to ₹5,100, while resistance lies at ₹5,335 to ₹5,395.
