Empowering Youth: New Campaign for a Drug-Free India Launched

As India strides towards its ambitious goal of Viksit Bharat by 2047, the focus on empowering young individuals as proactive architects of social change is crucial. In line with Prime Minister’s vision to combat substance abuse, the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports (MYAS) has unveiled the next phase of the ‘Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat’ campaign. This initiative, powered by Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat), will kick off District-Level Competitions starting from July 13, 2026, aiming to galvanize youth to champion the movement for a drug-free India.

The competitions will be structured in a three-tier format: beginning with district level contests, advancing to state level, and culminating in a national finale. Registrations will open on July 13, 2026, with the district-level events scheduled from July 24 to July 27, 2026, where the top three entries from each category will be crowned as district winners. These winners will then advance to state-level competitions from July 30 to August 6, 2026. The state champions will be invited to New Delhi to participate in the National Finale held during the National Youth Summit on August 12 and 13, 2026.

Central to this campaign is the power of creative expression among the youth. MY Bharat will host competitions in five artistic categories: Dance, Music, Reel & Short Film, Nukkad Natak, and Slam Poetry. This initiative combines culture, storytelling, and digital creativity, providing a vibrant platform for young talents to inspire their communities and promote the message of a drug-free nation.

The event is designed to ensure inclusivity, allowing youth aged 15 to 29 years to participate, either individually or in groups. Participants can submit their entries in Hindi, English, or any regional language, giving every young voice a chance to contribute to this national campaign.

To facilitate smooth participation, registrations for the District Round will be available on the MY Bharat Portal (mybharat.gov.in) starting July 13, 2026. Young individuals can register and upload their creative works through this portal, marking the beginning of their journey in the competition.

Through MY Bharat, the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports is calling upon the youth across the nation to harness their creativity as a catalyst for social transformation. This campaign not only aims to foster a Nasha Mukt Bharat but also aligns with the larger vision of Viksit Bharat during the promising phase of Amrit Kaal.
