PM addresses Uttarakhand Rozgar Mela

Today, Shri Narendra Modi addressed the Uttarakhand Rozgar Mela via video message.

He said that today marks a new beginning for those who got their appointment letters, adding that it is not just a life-changing opportunity, but a medium for holistic change as well. The Prime Minister highlighted the new educational experiments taking place in the country, noting that most of the appointees would be serving in education. According to the Prime Minister, the National Education Policy prepares the youth of India for the new century. He enjoined the youth of Uttarakhand to carry forward this resolution.

According to the Prime Minister, the central and Uttarakhand governments are constantly striving to ensure that each youth gets new opportunities based on their interests while having access to the right resources. The recruitment campaign in government services is also a step in this direction, he said. Thousands of youth have received appointment letters from the Central Government in the last few months, and the Prime Minister expressed delight that Uttarakhand has been included. In BJP-ruled states and union territories, such recruitment campaigns are taking place on a large scale throughout the country. “I am happy that Uttarakhand is joining it today”, the Prime Minister said.

During the speech, the Prime Minister emphasized breaking free from the old adage that the water and youth of the mountains are of no use to them. He highlighted the new employment and self-employment opportunities being created in the mountainous regions of Uttarakhand as a constant endeavor of the central government. Prime Minister said infrastructural development in Uttarakhand is not only boosting connectivity but also creating many jobs through the construction of new roads and rail lines. According to the Prime Minister, job opportunities are increasing everywhere, citing examples including construction workers, engineers, raw material industries, and shops. An increase in demand in the transportation sector also created new opportunities. Youth from rural areas of Uttarakhand used to travel to big cities for employment, but today thousands of youths work in common service centers in villages providing internet and digital services.

By connecting far-flung areas with roads, rails, and the internet, the tourism sector in Uttarakhand is expanding, and new tourist destinations are emerging. Due to this, the Prime Minister said, the youth of Uttarakhand are no longer required to travel to big cities for employment opportunities. According to the Prime Minister, the Mudra Yojana is playing a critical role in boosting employment and self-employment opportunities in the tourism industry. According to the Prime Minister, businesses such as shops, dhabas, guesthouses, and homestays are being provided loans up to Rs 10 lakh without any collateral. So far, 38 crore Mudra loans have been disbursed across the country. According to the Prime Minister, about 8 crore youth have become entrepreneurs for the first time. He also informed that the share of women and youth belonging to the SC/ST/OBC category is maximum.

The Prime Minister concluded by saying that this is the Amrit Kaal’ of wonderful possibilities for Indian youth and urged them to contribute to India’s development.
