Gold and Silver Market Forecast: Bullion Expected to Remain Steady Next Week

Gold and silver prices are poised to maintain their upward trajectory in the coming week, driven by increasing geopolitical tensions and the anticipation surrounding the US Supreme Court’s decision on President Donald Trump’s tariff policy. Analysts suggest that market participants will closely monitor inflation data from major economies, including the US, India, and Germany, as well as trade figures from China and insights from US Federal Reserve officials. This combination of factors is expected to provide fresh cues for traders navigating the precious metals market, making a reliable market analysis tool essential for informed decision-making.

Market Trends and Price Movements

On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), gold futures experienced a notable increase, rising by Rs 3,058, or 2.25 percent, over the past week to reach Rs 1,38,819 per 10 grams by Friday. Despite some volatility, gold prices concluded the week on a positive note, reflecting a robust underlying trend. Prathamesh Mallya, DVP of Research at Angel One, indicated that the movement of the US dollar, upcoming Federal Reserve decisions, and inflation and employment data will significantly influence short-term bullion prices. He projected that gold could potentially test Rs 1,41,000 per 10 grams in the upcoming week based on technical analysis.

In international markets, gold futures also saw a substantial rise, climbing $171.3, or 4 percent, to close at $4,500.90 per ounce. This upward momentum in gold prices is attributed to a combination of safe-haven demand amid geopolitical uncertainties and mixed economic data from around the globe. Analysts note that while the US dollar’s intermittent strength may limit gains, the overall trend remains positive.

Silver’s Strong Performance

Silver has mirrored gold’s positive performance, with MCX futures surging by Rs 16,409, or 6.94 percent, over the week. The metal reached a record high of Rs 2,59,692 per kg before settling at Rs 2,52,725 per kg on Friday. In international trade, silver prices rose by $8.32, nearly 12 percent, closing at $79.34 per ounce. Analysts believe that silver’s bullish structure could see prices testing between Rs 2,80,000 and Rs 3,00,000 per kilogram in the near future.

The strong gains in silver are also attributed to increased safe-haven demand as geopolitical tensions escalate. Market experts highlight that the ongoing unrest in various regions, including the Russia-Ukraine conflict and instability in Iran, has contributed to a heightened interest in precious metals as a protective investment.

Geopolitical Factors Influencing Prices

Geopolitical developments are playing a crucial role in shaping the bullion market. Analysts point to rising tensions following the capture of Venezuela’s President and the control over the country’s oil resources, as well as the ongoing conflict in Ukraine and unrest in Iran. These factors have intensified safe-haven buying, driving demand for gold and silver. Pranav Mer, Vice President of EBG – Commodity & Currency Research at JM Financial Services Ltd., emphasized that these geopolitical issues, combined with the uncertainty surrounding the US Supreme Court’s tariff hearing, are likely to keep bullion prices elevated.

As traders prepare for key inflation data releases and the Supreme Court’s decision, the market is expected to remain sensitive to macroeconomic and geopolitical developments. Analysts anticipate that these factors will continue to influence risk sentiment and trading strategies in the precious metals sector.

Looking Ahead: Key Economic Indicators

With significant inflation data set to be released this week, market participants are keenly awaiting insights that could impact bullion prices. The outcome of the US Supreme Court’s tariff hearing is also a critical event that could sway market sentiment. Analysts suggest that traders should remain vigilant, as these developments will likely dictate the direction of gold and silver prices in the near term.

As the market navigates these uncertainties, the interplay between geopolitical tensions and economic indicators will be pivotal in shaping the future of precious metals trading. Investors are advised to stay informed and consider these factors when making decisions in the bullion market.
