Bank of Baroda has successfully organized the 8th edition of its renowned initiative, the ‘Baroda Kisan Pakhwada’, in Mumbai, aimed at boosting financial inclusion and empowerment among farmers. The event saw active involvement from over 700 farmers from the Raigad District, reflecting a strong enthusiasm for learning about financial tools that can bolster their farming practices. The programme was inaugurated by the Collector of Raigad District, along with notable executives from the bank, showcasing a commitment to collaboration between financial institutions and local government bodies.

He stated, “Through our Digital BKCC and Digital Gold Loan offerings, we aim to simplify credit access and empower farmers. Attendees learned about the Digital Baroda Kisan Credit Card, which integrates digital land records for hassle-free access to credit, and the Digital Gold Loan that aims to facilitate quicker financial solutions for farmers.

A cultural performance, a ‘Nukkad Natak’, was conducted to further educate participants about digital banking and safeguard measures against cyber fraud. This initiative is part of the bank’s broader strategy to ensure that farmers can safely navigate the digital financial landscape.

Bank of Baroda reports that its lending to the agricultural sector has reached ₹1,69,703 crore as of September 2025, marking a robust year-on-year growth of 17.4%. With an extensive rural network, the bank continues to be a crucial ally in the progress of India’s agricultural ecosystem.
