India Launches 3rd International Bharat 6G Symposium in New Delhi
The 3rd International Bharat 6G Symposium 2026 kicked off today at Yashobhoomi in Dwarka, New Delhi, under the auspices of the Bharat 6G Alliance (B6GA). Inaugurated by Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, the Union Minister for Communications and Development of North Eastern Region, this symposium serves as a pivotal platform for uniting various stakeholders, including policymakers, tech alliances, telecom operators, industry leaders, and academia, to catalyze the growth of next-generation communication technologies and bolster India’s 6G ambitions.
Strengthening Collaborations through MoUs
The inaugural ceremony highlighted significant progress with the signing of five new Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) aimed at enhancing global and industry collaboration. The partners include GSMA, one6G Association, GTI Alliance Ltd, 6G Industry Forum (6GIF), and VoICE. These agreements signify the Bharat 6G Alliance’s commitment to fostering international cooperation in technology development, research, innovation, and standards for future networks.
With these recent collaborations, the Bharat 6G Alliance expands its existing network, now totaling 17 partnerships comprised of 10 global and 2 domestic agreements. This extensive collaboration exemplifies India’s strategic approach to building a robust 6G ecosystem.
Release of Nine Key White Papers
The symposium also unveiled nine Working Group white papers representing the invaluable technical insights from industry, academia, and research communities. These publications cover vital areas related to India’s journey towards 6G, including:
- 6G Technology Landscape Survey and Roadmap for R&D, Platforms and Trials in India
- Integrated Sensing and Communication (ISAC) for 6G: Technologies, Architectures, Applications, and Future Directions
- Fixed Wireless Access: Bharat’s Broadband Backbone from 5G to 6G
- The Role of Optical Technologies for 6G
- A Perspective on IMT Spectrum Readiness towards 2030 and Beyond
- Sustainable 6G: Designing Networks for a Carbon Net Zero Future
- Cellular and WiFi Synergy: Global Pathways to Inclusive Connectivity
- Captive Non-Public Network (CNPN)
- Security for 6G
These documents aim to address crucial technological and policy aspects needed for a successful 6G pathway, including sustainability, broadband connectivity, and network security.
Marking Progress with the New Delhi Declaration
Another key highlight of the event was the release of a joint report titled “Progress towards the 6G Principles of the New Delhi Declaration: Actions, Outcomes and Outlook – First Edition, October 2026.” This report signifies a year of progress since the endorsement of the New Delhi Declaration at the previous symposium in 2025. It outlines the contributions from participating partners in advancing the principles of a secure, resilient, and inclusive 6G ecosystem.
India’s Growing Influence in the Global 6G Landscape
The initiatives and partnerships unveiled at the symposium reinforce Bharat 6G Alliance’s prominent role as a facilitator for collaboration among Indian and international stakeholders. By continuing to nurture cross-industry dialogues and supporting India’s engagement in global standards and technology development, the alliance is poised to significantly impact the future of telecommunications.
The 3rd International Bharat 6G Symposium, scheduled from October 7-9, 2026, promises extensive discussions on essential topics, including global 6G vision, AI-native networks, spectrum management, and cooperative strategies for industry applications. The Bharat 6G Alliance’s ongoing efforts signal an unwavering commitment to building a secure, cooperative, and sustainable 6G ecosystem that enhances India’s position in the evolving global telecommunications landscape.
