Two-Day Ophthalmology conference begins at Army Hospital (R&R), Delhi

Military Hospital (R&R) Department of Ophthalmology is hosting a two-day nationwide Continuing Medical Education (CME) course on “Innovations in Ophthalmology” EYECON-2023 at Military Hospital (R&R), Delhi Cantt.

With the vision that innovations remain the cornerstone of any medical specialty, especially in the field of ophthalmology which has grown in stature and sophistication by leaps and bounds over the past three decades and continues to grow further, the event was inaugurated by Lt. Gen. Daljit Singh, DGAFMS and Colonel Comdt of the Army Medical Corps on 4th September. The inaugural session was attended by national lecturers and more than 150 delegates from across the country, along with general officers, flag officers and flight officers.

A resource CD was released during the event, followed by congratulations from supporters in the field of ophthalmology: Air Marshal MS Boparai (retired) and Lt. General DP Vats (retired). The keynote speaker at the event was Padma Shri Prof AK Grover, President of Vision Eye Centers and Head of Department of Ophthalmology, Sir Gangaram Hospital, New Delhi, and an internationally renowned and standing oculoplastic surgeon.

The academic event covered innovations in the fields of corneal and refractive surgery, cataract and intraocular lenses, glaucoma, vitreoretinal surgery, oculoplasty and ocular oncology, pediatric retinal diseases, ophthalmology and Pediatric strabismus and medical ethics. The event was an outstanding demonstration of innovative academic skills and continuing medical education in clinical practice.
