Who is Srikanth Bolla?

Srikanth Bolla is a notable Indian business leader and the CEO of Bollant Industries. Despite being visually impaired from birth, he has made significant strides in the business world and humanitarian efforts. Bolla made history as the first sight-impaired student to gain admission to MIT’s Sloan School of Management. His company, Bollant Industries, generates over $150 million in annual revenue and employs more than 500 individuals.

Born on July 7, 1991, in Seetharamapuram, Andhra Pradesh, Bolla faced numerous challenges due to his visual impairment and the financial struggles of his farming family. After achieving remarkable academic success, including a 98% score in his Class XII exams, he fought for his right to education, eventually gaining admission to prestigious institutions abroad. His journey also includes accomplishments in sports, where he competed in blind cricket and chess, and he established a digital learning facility for visually impaired students during his time at MIT.

In 2012, Bolla co-founded Bollant Industries with Ravi Mantha. The company focuses on producing eco-friendly products from areca palm leaves and recycled materials, while also creating job opportunities for individuals with disabilities. Bolla’s commitment to sustainability is evident in the company’s practices, which include converting municipal waste into recycled Kraft paper and manufacturing packaging items from repurposed materials.

Bolla’s inspiring life story has resonated with many, leading to the adaptation of his biography into a Hindi film titled “Srikanth,” featuring actor Rajkummar Rao.
