Reliance and Adani Group Seek Young Engineers and Data Scientists at AI Summit

India’s inaugural AI Summit is rapidly becoming a hotspot for talent acquisition, with major players like Reliance Group and Adani Group actively seeking young engineers to fuel the next generation of artificial intelligence innovations. This surge in recruitment coincides with a wave of global investments aimed at bolstering AI capabilities in India. The week-long summit has attracted notable figures from the tech industry, including Sundar Pichai of Alphabet Inc. and Sam Altman from OpenAI, while French President Emmanuel Macron is set to deliver the keynote address. Prime Minister Narendra Modi aims to showcase India’s vast pool of tech talent as a pivotal force in shaping the future of AI.

Talent Acquisition at the AI Summit

Senior representatives from Reliance Industries and the Adani Group are on the lookout for promising candidates at the AI Summit. Aspiring professionals are seizing the opportunity to present their résumés and GitHub portfolios, showcasing their technical skills and projects. According to a Bloomberg report, the event has become a prime venue for job seekers, particularly for roles in AI engineering, data science, and cloud development. Priyanshi Bavishi, a marketing executive at AdaniConnex Pvt. Ltd., noted that the summit is an excellent platform for finding talent, especially given the niche nature of the industry.

With specialized AI skills still in short supply compared to the number of technology graduates in India, the summit offers a unique chance for candidates to network and submit their profiles for future hiring needs. Siddharth Sood, a consulting partner at Ernst & Young LLP, emphasized the need for “ideapreneurs” in the industry, highlighting the demand for talent in AI for Cyber and Cyber for AI. Executives from Dell Technologies and Salesforce are also on the hunt for candidates who may not be accessible through traditional online hiring methods.

High Demand for AI Skills

The demand for skilled professionals at the summit has been particularly pronounced, with companies eager to fill roles that require advanced AI capabilities. Viral Tank, a senior manager with Analytics at Deloitte Haskins & Sells LLP, remarked on the influx of students arriving early to explore job opportunities. He noted that the recruitment process is mutually beneficial, as companies are actively seeking talent while candidates are eager to find employment.

The summit has become a critical venue for connecting job seekers with potential employers, allowing companies to retain candidate profiles for future hiring. The focus on AI engineers, data scientists, and cloud developers reflects the growing importance of these roles in the tech landscape. As the competition for talent intensifies, companies are increasingly recognizing the need to engage with candidates directly at events like this.

Investment Surge in AI Sector

The AI Summit is taking place against a backdrop of significant investment in India’s AI sector, which has already attracted $50 billion in funding. On Monday, Anthropic PBC announced a collaboration with Infosys Ltd. to develop advanced AI solutions tailored for various industries. The following day, the Adani Group revealed plans to invest $100 billion by 2035 to enhance data center infrastructure. Additionally, Google has pledged $15 billion to establish its first AI hub in India.

Technology Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw highlighted ongoing discussions with Nvidia regarding potential investments in AI infrastructure and software firms. While specific company names were not disclosed, the minister’s comments underscore the growing interest from global tech giants in India’s AI landscape. As the summit progresses, it is clear that the convergence of talent and investment is set to propel India’s position in the global AI arena.
