On his second day visit to Manipur, Union Home Minister and Cooperation Minister, Shri Amit Shah had extensive discussions with civil society organizations in Imphal. He met a delegation of women leaders (Meira Paibis) in Imphal. Reiterating the important role of women in Manipur society, Shri Amit Shah said that together we are committed to ensuring peace and prosperity in the state.

The Union Home Minister also met with delegations from civil society organizations such as; COCOMI, AMUCO, AMOCOC, MMW, STDCM, FOCS, Peace Restoration Forum, and student organizations.

The delegation expressed its commitment to peace and assured that together we would help pave the way for the restoration of normalcy in Manipur.

Delegates urged the Union Home Minister for effective action to restore peace and normality.

Union Home Minister Shri Amit visited Churachandpur and held a meeting with prominent personalities and a delegation of civil society organisations. Later in the evening, Shri Amit Shah held an all party meeting in Imphal. The home minister also reviewed the security situation with senior officials of the Manipur Police, CAPF and Indian Army. He said that the peace and prosperity of Manipur are our top priority and instructed them to strictly deal with any activity that disturbs the peace.

The Union Home Minister will visit Manipur’s Moreh and Kangpokpi areas tomorrow. He will interact with delegations from various local groups in Moreh, followed by a meeting with civil society organizations in Kangpokpi. Later he will hold a security review meeting in Imphal.
