CBIC disposes off 11,284 public grievances and more than 2,082 public grievance appeals between Nov. 2022 and August, 2023, besides 195 outdoor campaigns across all CBIC field offices under Special Campaign 2.0 for Swachhata

The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) participated with great vigor in the Special Campaign on Disposal of Pending Matters (SCPDM), from November 2022 to August 2023. The special objective of the campaign was disposal of VIP references and Public Complaints. During this period, 80 VIP references, 11,284 public complaints and over 2,082 public complaint appeals were filed. Furthermore, a nationwide cleanliness campaign was organized in all local CBIC offices. So far, 195 outdoor campaigns have been conducted.

During the campaign period, around 1 lakh files were scanned, of which around 86,000 were deleted. Over the year, through continuous efforts, CBIC has largely switched to e-Office due to which the number of physical files has been reduced to a minimum.

Another area of ​​focus identified was the disposal of old/unused office equipment and waste material, thus freeing up additional space. During the campaign period from November 2022 to August 2023, approx. 9,909 square feet of space freed by disposing of unused material/scrap. The additional space thus created was used productively.

To give further impetus to the exercise, in line with the Government’s priorities, CBIC will undertake the Special Campaign 3.0 from 2 October to 31 October 2023 to institutionalize Swachhata (cleaning) and minimizing the dependency of the identified work items. The CBIC, together with its field offices across India, will strive to eliminate references/issues identified during the campaign phase from 2 to 31 October 2023. The CBIC remains committed to ensuring cleanliness and improving the quality of spaces public areas managed by it.
