Vibrant Youth Gather at MY Bharat National Volunteers Convention

Lucknow hosted a remarkable gathering of over 1,500 youth volunteers at the MY Bharat National Youth Volunteers Convention, organized by the Department of Youth Affairs under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. The event took place at the Indira Gandhi Pratishthan and aimed to empower young leaders to engage in community service while contributing to the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047 through principles of Kartavya Bhav, Seva, and nation-first actions.

This significant convention featured sessions focusing on the MY Bharat Portal, leadership development, and community mobilization. Participants also enjoyed a cultural presentation advocating for a drug-free youth under the Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat campaign. The event culminated in recognizing outstanding youth achievements through a series of awards.

Notable attendees included Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, the Union Minister of Youth Affairs & Sports, and Shri Girish Chandra Yadav, the Minister of Sports & Youth Welfare from Uttar Pradesh, among other dignitaries. Addressing the crowd, Dr. Mandaviya urged the youth to take the lead in shaping a developed and prosperous India. He remarked, “The next 25 years belong to you. It is your task to build and witness Viksit Bharat.”

Highlighting the importance of youth in nation-building, Dr. Mandaviya shared insights on how approximately 65 percent of India’s population is under the age of 35, positioning young people as the nation’s key drivers of development. He also referred to Prime Minister Modi’s vision of nurturing one lakh young leaders, emphasizing that leadership should emerge organically from every corner of the country.

The MY Bharat platform was showcased as an essential resource for youth empowerment, offering a variety of volunteering opportunities and pathways for career development. Dr. Mandaviya encouraged attendees to actively recruit more youth into the MY Bharat initiative and establish new active Youth Clubs across India, driving home the need for ongoing community engagement and leadership.

Shri Girish Chandra Yadav echoed Dr. Mandaviya’s sentiments, emphasizing the enthusiasm and dedication of Uttar Pradesh’s youth in contributing to national development. With over 2.25 crore youth engaged in the MY Bharat initiative nationwide, he noted Uttar Pradesh’s remarkable rise in registrations as a testament to the state’s commitment to Viksit Bharat.

Dr. Pallavi Jain Govil, Secretary of the Department of Youth Affairs, welcomed the volunteers with pride, highlighting the important role youth play in societal progress and transformation. The gathering also honored the top five winners of the Nation First Challenge, celebrating young achievers from various states.

Interactive sessions during the convention equipped MY Bharat Youth Volunteers with skills in leadership and community mobilization, preparing them to drive pivotal initiatives. The day’s events concluded with the administration of the Nasha Mukt Pledge, further solidifying the volunteers’ commitment to promoting a drug-free India and working towards a cohesive vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047.
