Current Gold Prices: Explore 24K and 22K Rates in Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and More

Gold and silver prices surged on Thursday, buoyed by strong global cues and a renewed demand for safe-haven assets following the conclusion of the prolonged U.S. government shutdown. The reopening of the government has positively influenced investor sentiment, leading to significant gains in both domestic and international markets for these precious metals. On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), gold futures for December delivery rose by Rs 1,180, while silver prices continued their upward trend for the fifth consecutive session.

On the MCX, gold futures for December delivery experienced a notable increase, climbing by Rs 1,180, or 0.93 percent, to reach Rs 1,27,645 per 10 grams. Similarly, the February 2026 contract saw a rise of Rs 1,360, or 1.06 percent, bringing its price to Rs 1,29,320 per 10 grams. This upward momentum in gold prices reflects a broader trend in the market, driven by a combination of factors including investor confidence and global economic conditions. Analysts have pointed to the potential easing of Federal Reserve policies as a contributing factor to this rally, suggesting that investors are increasingly optimistic about the economic outlook.

Silver Continues Its Winning Streak

Silver also maintained its positive trajectory, with December contracts surging by Rs 3,123, or 1.93 percent, to reach Rs 1,65,214 per kg. The March 2026 contract for silver advanced by Rs 3,369, or 2.05 percent, bringing its price to Rs 1,68,059 per kg. This marks the fifth consecutive session of gains for silver, highlighting a robust demand for the metal. In global markets, silver prices reached a new record, trading at $54.41 per ounce. The combination of rising prices and strong demand indicates a favorable environment for silver investors.

Global Market Influences

In the global arena, Comex gold futures rose by 0.55 percent to $4,236.80 per ounce, reflecting the positive sentiment surrounding gold as a safe-haven asset. The recent developments in the U.S. government and the inclusion of metals like silver, copper, and coal in the critical minerals list have further fueled investor interest. Analysts suggest that these factors have contributed to the increased confidence in the market, leading to a rally in both gold and silver prices. As investors navigate the complexities of the global economy, the demand for precious metals remains strong.
