Shivmangal Singh Suman (5 August 1915 โ 27 November 2002) was an Indian poet and academician who wrote in Hindi.
Life and Career
Shivmangal Singh Suman was born on 5 August 1915, in Unnao. He received his early education in Unnao and then went on to complete his Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) from Lucknow University. He also obtained a degree in Law (LL.B.) from the same university.
After completing his education, Suman started his career as a lawyer in Unnao. However, his true passion was poetry, and he soon gained recognition as a talented poet. He became associated with the Chhayavaad movement, which was a literary movement in Hindi poetry that focused on romanticism, mysticism, and the beauty of nature. Suman’s poetry was deeply influenced by the Chhayavaad style, and he became known for his lyrical and romantic verses.
Apart from his poetry, Suman was also known for his contributions to Hindi literature as an editor and critic. He edited several literary magazines and was a respected literary critic who wrote insightful essays on various aspects of Hindi literature.
Shivmangal Singh Suman passed away on 27 November 2002 (age 87 years), in Ujjain.
