Specifications and Features of the Roadster X Series
The Ola Electric Roadster X series is engineered for optimal performance and reliability. Both models feature a mid-drive motor and chain drive technology, which enhances their efficiency. The integrated Motor Control Unit (MCU) is designed to improve overall performance and range. One of the standout features is the brake-by-wire technology, which intelligently adjusts braking based on sensor data, offering both mechanical and regenerative braking options.
The bikes are powered by Ola’s proprietary MoveOS 5, which introduces several advanced features. These include a Smartwatch App, Smart Park, and Bharat Mood. The Road Trip mode is integrated with Ola Maps, providing users with navigation assistance. Safety is a priority, with features like live location sharing and emergency SOS capabilities included in the new operating system.
The entry-level Roadster X is equipped with LED headlamps, a 4.3-inch TFT LCD color-segmented screen, and front disc brakes. It also offers turn-by-turn navigation and inherits features from the Ola Electric S1 Pro, such as cruise control and reverse mode. With an IDC claimed range of up to 252 kilometers using the 4.5kWh battery, the Roadster X is powered by a 7kW mid-drive motor, achieving a top speed of 118 km/h. The acceleration from 0 to 40 km/h takes just 3.4 seconds for the 2.5kWh variant, while the 3.5kWh and 4.5kWh variants achieve this in 3.1 seconds.
Performance and Range of the Roadster X+ Variant
The Ola Electric Roadster X+ variant takes performance to the next level. It boasts a top speed of 125 km/h and offers an impressive range of 252 kilometers with the 4.5kWh battery pack. For those who opt for the 9.1kWh battery, the claimed range extends to 501 kilometers. This variant utilizes Ola’s proprietary 4680 Bharat Cell technology, which is designed to deliver five times more energy, one and a half times faster charging, and a 10% longer range compared to traditional lithium-ion cells.
The Roadster X+ is powered by an 11kW mid-drive motor, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 40 km/h in just 2.7 seconds. This model also includes advanced features such as energy insights, advanced regenerative braking, cruise control, and reverse mode. These enhancements not only improve the riding experience but also contribute to the overall efficiency of the bike.
While the Roadster X series has generated excitement, Ola Electric also unveiled the Roadster Pro during the August 15 event. However, this model has not yet been launched as part of the new Roadster lineup. As the electric vehicle market continues to evolve, the Roadster X series positions Ola Electric as a key player in the industry, offering innovative solutions for eco-conscious consumers.
