New MoU Boosts Job Opportunities for Youth

In a significant development aimed at enhancing job creation, the Ministry of Labour and Employment has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with FoundIt, a prominent job portal formerly known as Monster. The agreement, formalized in New Delhi, was witnessed by Union Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya. This collaboration aims to expand both international and domestic employment opportunities for young job seekers registered on the National Career Service (NCS) portal. The initiative is expected to provide a substantial boost to the job market, particularly for the youth of India.
Transformative Role of the NCS Portal
Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya emphasized the transformative impact of the NCS Portal in connecting job seekers with employment opportunities. He stated that the portal serves as a crucial gateway for millions of individuals seeking jobs both within India and abroad. Currently, the NCS Portal sees an influx of 3,000 to 4,000 job postings daily. With the new MoU, it is anticipated that the portal will facilitate 1.25 lakh international job vacancies and over 10 lakh domestic job vacancies annually. This significant increase in job postings is expected to enhance employment prospects for Indian youth, providing them with a wider array of opportunities.
The NCS Portal has already registered over 40 lakh employers and has mobilized more than 4.40 crore vacancies since its inception. At any given time, nearly 10 lakh job vacancies are available, ensuring a steady flow of opportunities for job seekers. The portal’s robust infrastructure and extensive reach make it an essential resource for those looking to enter the job market.
Expanding Global Reach and Opportunities
The MoU also aims to expand the global reach of the NCS Portal. Dr. Mandaviya highlighted the integration of the NCS Portal with the e-Migrate platform, which has onboarded over 500 active Recruitment Agencies (RAs) registered with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA). This integration opens doors for Indian professionals to secure jobs with credible and verified employers abroad. The collaboration is expected to enhance the career prospects of Indian job seekers, particularly in countries actively seeking skilled workers.
Countries like Germany, Finland, and various nations in the Middle East are currently looking for skilled labor in both blue-collar and white-collar sectors. The MoU will enable the NCS Portal to facilitate these vacancies, thereby enhancing the career prospects for Indian job seekers. This initiative not only aims to provide job opportunities but also seeks to ensure that Indian professionals can find employment in reputable organizations globally.
Benefits of the MoU for Job Seekers
The MoU between the Ministry of Labour and Employment and FoundIt brings several benefits for job seekers. Firstly, it expands job opportunities significantly. Job seekers registered on the NCS Portal will now have access to vacancies not only in India but also in Southeast Asia and the Middle East. This broadens their employment prospects and allows them to explore opportunities beyond national borders.
Secondly, the MoU ensures seamless job integration. FoundIt will post job opportunities on the NCS Portal, enhancing the employment prospects for job seekers. The integration will allow for the gathering of job demand from employers across various sectors, ensuring that relevant job listings are easily accessible.
Additionally, the NCS Portal is committed to inclusive hiring practices. The partnership with FoundIt will promote fair hiring processes, ensuring equal job opportunities for underrepresented groups, including women and persons with disabilities. This commitment to inclusivity is crucial in creating a diverse workforce that reflects the society we live in.
