India vaccination drive

India vaccination drive has administered 27.38 lakh vaccine doses on day 78.  The vaccination drive was rolled out on 16th January 2021.

On  Day-78 of the vaccination drive (3 April 2021), a total of 27,38,972  vaccine doses were given. Among which,  24,80,031 beneficiaries were vaccinated for 1st dose and 2,58,941 HCWs and FLWs received 2nd dose of the vaccine.

On  Day-77 of the vaccination drive (2 April 2021), a total of 30,93,795  vaccine doses were given. Among which,  28,87,779 beneficiaries were vaccinated for 1st dose and 2,06,016 HCWs and FLWs received 2nd dose of the vaccine.

So far, more than 7.5  cr (7,59,79,651) vaccine doses have been administered.  It covers around 6.5 crores of the first dosage and around 1.0 crores for the second dosage to HCWs, FLWs, beneficiaries aged more than 45 years of age.

COVID-19 cases across states

Eight states including Maharashtra, Karnataka, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Gujrat and Madhya Pradesh have shown a steep rise in the COVID daily new cases. 80.96% of the new cases are reported from these 8 states.

93,249 new cases were registered in the last 24 hours.

Maharashtra has reported the highest daily new cases at 49,447. This is followed by Chhattisgarh with 5,818 cases while Karnataka reported 4,373 new cases.
