Central Silk Board Champions Cleanliness with Special Campaign 6
The Ministry of Textiles has praised the Central Silk Board (CSB) for its significant contributions to Special Campaign 6, aimed at enhancing cleanliness and workplace efficiency within government offices. This initiative focuses on promoting a clean environment, reducing backlog, and effectively managing records and resources.
In a concerted effort to support the campaign, CSB has implemented various initiatives that emphasize cleanliness, organization, and efficient space utilization. These actions not only enhance the aesthetics of the workplace but also reflect the Board’s dedication to fostering a sustainable and efficient working environment.
Workplace Cleanliness and Facility Improvement
One of the key elements of the campaign involves thorough cleaning and maintenance of office facilities, including laboratories, corridors, and storage areas. A standout initiative includes the renovation of office washrooms, highlighting the necessity of maintaining clean and functional sanitation facilities for staff. Efforts also involve cleaning campuses, pathways, and other communal spaces while removing unwanted vegetation to promote a tidy workspace.
Record Management and Space Optimization
As part of the campaign, CSB is conducting a comprehensive review of record management practices. This includes cleaning record rooms, reorganizing storage racks, and evaluating old files to ensure adherence to retention schedules. The removal of outdated materials aims to foster a clutter-free environment, thereby enhancing safety and productivity.
E-waste and Scrap Management
CSB is also tackling the challenge of electronic waste. Obsolete IT and communication equipment, including 75 identified items—ranging from desktop computers to printers—are being segregated and disposed of according to established procedures. This initiative underscores the commitment to responsible waste management and environmental sustainability.
Awareness and Environmental Sustainability
The Board is promoting awareness of the 4Rs—Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle—through various campaigns and seminars aimed at responsible waste management. Initiatives under the SHS 2026 include cleanliness drives, tree plantation events, home composting demonstrations, and efforts to educate the community on eco-friendly practices.
Publicity and Outreach
CSB has leveraged its social media platforms, including X, Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, to share updates and images of its activities throughout the Special Campaign 6. These communications have played a vital role in raising awareness and encouraging community participation in cleanliness and environmental responsibility efforts.
The initiatives undertaken by CSB demonstrate the organization’s proactive stance in aligning with the Government of India’s objectives for Special Campaign 6. By promoting cleanliness, efficiency, and sustainable resource management, CSB is committed to the principles of Swachhata and good governance, setting an example for other government entities to follow.
