Rear Admiral R Hari Kumar, CNS, interacted with cadets from King Fahd Naval Academy, Saudi Arabia during their sea training at Southern Naval Command, Kochi. 55 Royal Saudi Naval Force (RSNF) cadets along with five Directing Staff are assigned to vessels of the First Training Squadron, INS Tir and INS Sujata as part of afloat training with the Indian Navy. The CNS has been informed of ongoing port and shipboard training activities, including familiarization sea sorties. He was also informed about the progress made by the trainees during the training period.

As part of the training curriculum, simulator training was conducted for cadets prior to embarkation for the sea training phase. The cadets completed 10 days at sea aboard Indian naval vessels. On sea sorties, they underwent rigorous training in the practicalities of seafaring and navigation, with particular attention to navigating galley waters, anchoring, coastal navigation, refueling at sea, crafting, fighting firefighting and emergency drills. There is also a two-day port training on the training vessel INS Sudarshini to familiarize you with the rigors of life aboard a sailing vessel.
