India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) proudly celebrates its 9th Foundation Day, solidifying its dedication to enhancing accessible, inclusive, and technology-driven financial services throughout India. Established with the vision of making banking services available to every citizen, IPPB has effectively utilized the vast reach of the India Post network alongside digital technology to create a robust model for last-mile financial services.
Over the past nine years, IPPB has positioned itself as a vital connection point, linking citizens to banking services, digital payments, government benefits, and essential financial solutions.
New Innovations Launched
During the 9th Foundation Day festivities, IPPB unveiled several innovative services, including the **DakPay Sound Box for Merchants**, which aims to simplify and bolster the digital payment process for businesses. The Bank also introduced its **Digital Insurance Technology Platform**, designed to seamlessly connect customers to various insurance options in Life, Health, and General Insurance. Additionally, a new **Digital Mutual Fund Platform** was launched to provide customers with a straightforward, accessible digital investment experience.
These platforms signify a significant evolution in IPPB’s offerings, transitioning from basic banking and payment services to broader access to protections, investments, and financial security.
Significant Achievements
As of March 31, 2026, IPPB’s achievements include:
- A nationwide customer base of 132.5 million, with 77% located in rural areas, including 49% female customers, who have entrusted the bank with deposits amounting to ₹29,104 crore.
- Digital transactions totaling ₹21.61 lakh crore, with ₹7.41 lakh crore attributed to UPI remittances.
- 6.5 crore beneficiaries receiving direct benefit transfers (DBT) valued at approximately ₹1.55 lakh crore.
- 12.06 crore AePS transactions leading to disbursements of ₹36,140 crore.
- 29.43 lakh Digital Life Certificates issued to pensioners.
- 9.47 crore Aadhaar mobile updates and 1.35 crore Bal Aadhaar enrollments.
Future Aspirations

In the past year, IPPB launched three product variants to advance financial inclusion:
- **SHG Savings Account**: A reliable banking solution tailored for Self Help Groups and rural micro-entrepreneurs.
- **Surakshit Savings Account**: This account offers ₹25,000 in cyber insurance protection against online threats, alongside the benefits of a Premium Savings Account.
- **Sampoorna Savings Account**: Merging financial security and personal wellness, it combines Aarogya wellness provisions with Surakshit cyber protection, in addition to the standard Premium Savings Account benefits.
