Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor Star in Myntra’s Big Fashion Festival Campaign Launching October 8
Myntra, one of India’s leading fashion, beauty, and lifestyle platforms, has launched an exciting campaign for its upcoming Big Fashion Festival (BFF). The campaign features popular brand ambassadors Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor, who are set to bring a fresh and humorous perspective to the shopping event. Scheduled to go live on October 8, the BFF will showcase over 8 million styles, and the campaign kicks off with a series of star-studded films designed to build anticipation for the event.
Humorous Campaign Concept
The campaign revolves around the idea that even the most trivial moments can spark a shopping spree when the deals are irresistible. Each film takes everyday situations and transforms them into exaggerated, laugh-out-loud scenarios that lead to shopping at the Myntra BFF event. From a stray scrunchie to a sneeze, these seemingly inconsequential triggers escalate into a humorous chain of thoughts that culminate in a shopping cart filled with stylish finds.
Neha Gulati, Senior Director of Brand Marketing at Myntra, shared her vision for the campaign: “BFF has always been about giving customers a reason to refresh their style at unmatched value. What we really wanted with this campaign was for the humour to do the heavy lifting. Through Alia and Ranbir, we’ve captured just how universally fun the logic behind shopping can be. A scrunchie, an OTP, even a sneeze can spiral into an entire imagined story that ends in a shopping cart. It’s silly, it’s relatable, and it’s exactly the energy we want customers to associate with BFF this year.”
Ranbir Kapoor’s Films
Ranbir Kapoor’s segments in the campaign showcase how small, everyday triggers can lead to significant wardrobe changes. In one film, he finds an ex’s scrunchie while cleaning for Diwali, which spirals into an elaborate fantasy about a wedding invite and a Bollywood moment, prompting him to revamp his ethnic wardrobe. In another, a simple gesture of offering his seat to an aunty at a wedding leads to visions of blessings, budding romance, and the need for a style upgrade.
Ranbir expressed his enthusiasm for the campaign, stating, “These films are a lot of fun because the humour comes from something so real; we’ve all had a random thought spiral into a full-blown shopping decision. The logic makes zero sense and somehow makes complete sense at the same time. I think audiences are going to see a bit of themselves in every one of these moments, and that’s what makes BFF’s campaign and proposition land so well this year.”
Alia Bhatt’s Perspective
Alia Bhatt’s films bring a similar whimsical logic from her viewpoint. In one scenario, a cab driver’s respectful “madam” over an OTP leads her to imagine workplace respect, a big promotion, and the search for the perfect outfit to celebrate. In another, a lucky win at cards with a friend spirals into festive gatherings and the need for the ideal kurta set to impress a partner’s family.
Alia shared her thoughts on the campaign, saying, “I love how these films take the smallest, most random things… an OTP, a card game, even a sneeze… and somehow your brain turns them into a perfectly good reason to shop! Which, honestly, is very relatable. We all have those moments where one thought leads to another and suddenly you’ve completely justified something you probably didn’t need five minutes ago. It made the films really fun to shoot because the situations are silly, but also weirdly real. And this time, with Myntra BFF, there’s actually a reward for letting your mind run away with you!”
