Jackky Bhagnani Makes a Comeback Celebrating Patriotism
Jackky Bhagnani is making a notable return to acting after a six-year hiatus with the release of the Independence Day anthem “Tere Rang Mein,” under his music label Jjust Music. The actor-producer expressed that this song provided him with a meaningful opportunity to step back in front of the camera. Bhagnani’s decision to return to acting is deeply rooted in his personal values and patriotism.
A Patriotic Return to Acting
Bhagnani described himself as a patriot, emphasizing that the nature of the song played a significant role in his decision to act again. “I am a patriot by heart. It’s been quite some time since I faced the camera. So, I thought the best way to come back is with the right cause,” he stated. His return comes after years spent primarily in film production, a conscious choice that allowed him to focus on behind-the-scenes work.
Reflecting on his time away from acting, Bhagnani noted that his experience as a producer reshaped his perspective on his acting career. He realized that producing his own films would give him greater control over the projects he wanted to be involved with. “I realised that I should produce my own films because if I do that, no one will question it,” he explained.
Seeking Credibility Among Younger Audiences
Bhagnani also shared his desire to establish greater credibility with younger audiences. Despite some of his films performing well, he felt he lacked the recognition he sought as an actor. “I felt that even in the films that were working, I wasn’t getting credibility. I wanted the street credibility and respect of Gen Z, they should see that this is made by me,” he said.
As he embarks on this new chapter in his acting career, Bhagnani is not looking to take on projects merely for the sake of being on screen. He is in search of roles that offer something unique and different. The actor expressed a desire for his next project to be “disruptive,” indicating that he aims to choose material that he finds creatively stimulating.
Supporting His Wife Rakul Preet Singh
In addition to discussing his own career, Bhagnani praised his wife, actor Rakul Preet Singh, who is set to portray Surpanakha in Nitesh Tiwari’s upcoming film, “Ramayana: Part 1.” He expressed confidence in her performance, believing the film will showcase another facet of her talent to Hindi-speaking audiences. “Rakul is my superstar. She has seen superstardom in the South. She has so much more to offer to the Hindi audience, and Ramayana will do that for her,” he remarked.
Bhagnani acknowledged the complexities of portraying a character like Surpanakha, noting, “Surpanakha can be a tricky character, but she has played it with elegance.” The film features an impressive cast, including Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Yash as Ravana. “Ramayana: Part 1” is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on November 6, 2026.
