Shraddha Kapoor’s ‘Eetha’ Sets New Release Date for December 4, 2026

Shraddha Kapoor’s much-anticipated film “Eetha” has officially secured a new theatrical release date. Directed by Laxman Utekar and produced by Dinesh Vijan, Laxman Utekar, and Karishma Sharma, the film will now hit cinemas on December 4, 2026. This announcement puts an end to the speculation surrounding the film’s release schedule, which was previously set for August 28.

New Release Date Confirmed

The makers of “Eetha” shared the revised release date in an official statement, expressing excitement for the film’s debut. They stated, “After the teaser broke all records, the team behind EETHA is back with great news for cinema lovers. Directed by Laxman Utekar, produced by Dinesh Vijan, Laxman Utekar and Karishma Sharma, with music by Ajay Atul, and starring Shraddha Kapoor and Randeep Hooda, Eetha promises to bring a spirited new story to the big screen this December. Paan mein paan chakhna ho toh meetha! Aur toofan ko nachte dekhna ho toh…EETHA!”

The announcement also emphasized the collaboration between Maddock Films and Kathputli Creations, stating, “Maddock Films and Kathputli Creations are all set for audiences to get ready for EETHA, as the much-awaited film arrives on the big screen on December 4, 2026.”

A Glimpse into the Story

“Eetha” is inspired by the life of Vithabai Narayangaonkar, a celebrated Marathi Tamasha and Lavani performer. She rose from humble beginnings to become one of Maharashtra’s most revered folk theatre artists. The film’s narrative centers around her life and legacy, showcasing her journey and contributions to the arts.

This project marks the first collaboration between Shraddha Kapoor and director Laxman Utekar. While both have previously worked on successful projects under the Maddock Films banner, they have not teamed up until now. “Eetha” promises to present Shraddha in a performance-driven role, distinct from her previous work in Maddock’s horror-comedy franchise.

Collaborations Behind the Scenes

The film also signifies another partnership between producer Dinesh Vijan and Laxman Utekar. The duo has a history of successful collaborations, having worked together on films such as “Luka Chuppi,” “Mimi,” “Zara Hatke Zara Bachke,” and “Chhaava.”

Adding to the film’s appeal is the music composed by the acclaimed duo Ajay-Atul, known for their impactful scores. With its focus on a significant figure from Maharashtra’s folk theatre tradition, “Eetha” is gearing up for its theatrical release on December 4, 2026.
