Empowering Youth for a Developed India: Chintan Shivir Starts in Lucknow

The Department of Youth Affairs, under the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, has officially launched the Chintan Shivir at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan in Lucknow. This two-day gathering, themed ‘विकसित युवा बनाएगा विकसित भारत’ (Viksit Yuva for Viksit Bharat), is set to foster an empowered, future-ready youth ecosystem that aligns with India’s developmental goals. Senior officials from the Department, MY Bharat, and National Service Scheme (NSS) have convened to deliberate on innovative strategies for youth empowerment.

Keynote Address Highlights Collaboration

The inaugural session featured Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Minister of Youth Affairs & Sports, who emphasized the session’s goal to cultivate dialogue and shared learning among attendees. He stated, “Chintan means the collection of ideas. We organized this Shivir to facilitate Samvaad because without dialogue, there can be no clarity, and without clarity, there can be no effective implementation.” He also defined MY Bharat as a vision from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, aiming to build a generation of leaders equipped for a developed India by 2047.

Mobilizing Youth Engagement

Dr. Mandaviya encouraged officers to intensify the MY Bharat registration drive until August 15. He urged them to reach out to schools, colleges, and local communities to transform the initiative into a nationwide movement. The incorporation of State-level editions into the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue (VBYLD) has also been announced, facilitating greater youth participation in the national discourse.

Building a Commitment to Youth Development

Minister of State for Youth Affairs & Sports, Smt. Raksha Nikhil Khadse, reflected on MY Bharat’s impressive growth to over two crore registrations, marking it as the largest youth platform in the country. She stressed the importance of dialogue-driven governance and collaboration in developing effective solutions for youth engagement.

Innovative Approaches to Empowering Youth

Shri Girish Chandra Yadav asserted that the Chintan Shivir transcends mere administrative activity, representing a collective commitment to the country’s youth. He called for transforming local institutions into hubs for youth leadership and community action, emphasizing the need to replicate successful initiatives in various sectors, including environmental protection and digital literacy.

Strategizing for the Future

The subsequent discussions on themes like ‘Samvaad Se Samadhaan’ involved sharing best practices and forming thematic working groups to refine actionable recommendations. Dr. Priyanka Shukla, CEO of MY Bharat, highlighted ongoing campaigns such as ‘Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat,’ which aims to raise awareness through a three-tier competition leading to a National Youth Summit.

As the first day of the Chintan Shivir wraps up, officials are focused on a collaborative approach to ensure that MY Bharat thrives, contributing meaningfully to the vision of a developed youth for a developed India.
