AI Impact Casebooks Launched at India AI Summit 2026

The India AI Impact Summit 2026 has unveiled the AI Impact Casebooks – Health & Education, a groundbreaking resource developed by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, and the IndiaAI Mission. This initiative has received valuable support from esteemed partners including the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the Central Square Foundation, aiming to showcase the transformative power of artificial intelligence in crucial sectors like health and education.

These thematic compendiums detail real-world applications of AI that extend beyond initial pilot projects, demonstrating effective implementations within clinics, classrooms, and training environments. The casebooks emphasize measurable outcomes and scalable models, particularly within India and the Global South. They serve as practical blueprints for organizations interested in adopting AI, underscoring the importance of ethical governance, interoperability, collaboration between public and private sectors, and evidence-based evaluations.

Contributors Shine Light on AI’s Potential

Kavita Bhatia, Scientist G and Group Coordinator at the AI & ET Division of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), expressed gratitude to all partners involved in creating these six comprehensive casebooks. She highlighted the efforts of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) for their leadership in documenting AI’s real-world impacts in health. Bhatia also acknowledged the continued support from the WHO in facilitating a globally recognized, evidence-based selection process.

Shikha Dahiya, a Joint Director in MeitY, remarked on the significance of these publications, stating they represent a major achievement of the IndiaAI Impact Summit. The casebooks illustrate tangible use cases of AI in health and education, aligning with the Summit’s goal of showcasing measurable impacts. Dahiya hopes these resources will inform future policies in these vital sectors.

Global Collaboration for AI Advancement

Ms. Catharina Boehme, Officer-in-Charge of the WHO South-East Asia Region, emphasized the importance of transitioning discussions on AI from promises to actionable practices. She noted that AI is increasingly recognized as a vital instrument for addressing emerging health challenges, workforce issues, and service delivery problems worldwide. Boehme reaffirmed WHO’s commitment to supporting countries in establishing robust AI governance frameworks that enhance both technical and ethical capacities, promoting evidence-based AI adoption globally.
