PM Modi emphasized the significance of this milestone, recalling the efforts that led to Uttarakhand’s establishment and expressing pride in its achievements over the past quarter-century.

Commemorative Postal Stamp Released

To honor the 25th anniversary of Uttarakhand’s statehood, Prime Minister Modi unveiled a commemorative postal stamp. This gesture symbolizes the state’s journey and the aspirations of its people since it was carved out from Uttar Pradesh in 1998. The release of the stamp serves as a reminder of the challenges faced and the milestones achieved by the state, reflecting the pride of its residents in their identity and progress.

Projects Worth Over Rs 8,000 Crore

During the anniversary event, PM Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for development projects totaling over Rs 8,140 crore. This includes the inauguration of projects worth more than Rs 930 crore and the foundation stones for initiatives valued at approximately Rs 7,210 crore. The projects span various sectors, including drinking water, irrigation, technical education, energy, urban development, sports, and skill development. These initiatives aim to enhance the quality of life for residents and promote sustainable growth across the state.

Direct Financial Support to Farmers

In a significant move to support the agricultural community, PM Modi announced the direct transfer of Rs 62 crore to over 28,000 farmers under the PM Fasal Bima Yojana. This financial assistance is designed to provide timely support and risk coverage through the crop insurance scheme, ensuring that farmers have the necessary resources to sustain their livelihoods. The initiative underscores the government’s commitment to bolstering the agricultural sector and improving the economic stability of farmers in Uttarakhand.

Among the notable projects inaugurated by PM Modi were improvements to Dehradun’s water supply system, which will enhance coverage for 23 zones under the AMRUT scheme. Additionally, an electrical substation in Pithoragarh district and solar power plants on government buildings were launched. The AstroTurf Hockey Ground at Haldwani Stadium was also inaugurated, aimed at promoting sports and enhancing facilities for athletes. These projects are expected to significantly improve urban services and energy efficiency in the region, contributing to the overall development of Uttarakhand.
