‘Yuva Spiritual Summit’ Commences at Rudraksh Convention Centre in Varanasi

The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has inaugurated the ‘Yuva Spiritual Summit’ in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, under the theme ‘Drug-Free Youth for a Developed India.’ This significant event has gathered over 600 young participants from 122 spiritual and socio-cultural organizations across the nation. Union Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya emphasized the crucial role of youth in realizing India’s development goals by 2047, highlighting the need for a drug-free generation to achieve this vision.
Minister’s Vision for Youth Empowerment
During the summit, Dr. Mandaviya referenced Prime Minister Narendra Modi‘s vision for India during the 76th Independence Day address, which outlined a roadmap for the next 25 years through the ‘Panch Pran’ of Amrit Kaal. He pointed out that with 65% of the Indian population under the age of 35, the youth are pivotal in transforming the nation into a developed country by 2047. The minister stressed that the youth should not only be viewed as beneficiaries of policies but also as active changemakers who will shape the future of India.
Dr. Mandaviya underscored the pressing issue of substance abuse, describing it as one of the most significant threats to the youth today. He noted that addiction can trap young individuals at a critical juncture in their lives, posing a serious challenge to national progress. The minister’s remarks highlighted the urgency of addressing this issue to ensure a brighter future for the younger generation.
Call for a Mass Movement Against Drugs
To achieve a drug-free India, Dr. Mandaviya called on religious and social leaders to leverage their influence in spreading awareness among the youth about the dangers of addiction. He emphasized that isolated efforts or single events would not suffice; instead, a mass movement is necessary. The minister urged every citizen to commit to inspiring at least five others to join the anti-drug campaign, fostering a collective effort to combat substance abuse.
The summit aims to create a robust framework for addressing addiction and its effects on youth. Dr. Mandaviya expressed hope that the discussions during the two-day event would lead to meaningful outcomes. The summit will culminate on July 20th with the release of the ‘Kashi Declaration,’ a document that will encapsulate the collective vision and commitment of youth and spiritual leaders towards building a drug-free India.
Thematic Sessions and Collaborative Efforts
The summit features four thematic sessions that delve into critical areas related to addiction and its impact on youth. These sessions focus on understanding addiction, dismantling drug trafficking networks, designing effective outreach campaigns, and fostering long-term commitments to a drug-free India by 2047.
Participants engage in expert talks, guided panel discussions, and interactive platforms, ensuring that every delegate actively contributes to shaping a comprehensive national strategy. This collaborative approach aims to equip attendees with the knowledge and tools necessary to combat drug abuse effectively. By fostering dialogue and sharing insights, the summit seeks to create a united front against the challenges posed by substance abuse.
Dr. Mandaviya’s vision for a drug-free youth aligns with the broader goal of national development, emphasizing the importance of collective action in addressing this pressing issue. The summit represents a significant step towards mobilizing youth and community leaders in the fight against addiction, ultimately contributing to a healthier and more prosperous India.
