Three-Day National Annual Conference on CERT-In SAMVAAD 2025
To bolster India’s cybersecurity audit framework, the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) launched the three-day national conference, โCERT-In SAMVAAD 2025,โ on May 19, 2025. Held at the Radisson Blu Resort Temple Bay in Mahabalipuram, Tamil Nadu, the event was inaugurated by key figures including Shri S. Krishnan, Secretary of MeitY, and Dr. Sanjay Bahl, Director General of CERT-In. The conference aims to unite information security auditing organizations, regulators, and stakeholders to enhance cybersecurity practices across the nation.
Inaugural Address Highlights Cybersecurity Needs
During the opening address, Shri S. Krishnan emphasized the urgent need for innovation in auditing processes, improved risk assessments, and capacity building. He pointed out that as cyber threats evolve, collaboration among various stakeholders becomes crucial for strengthening India’s cybersecurity audit ecosystem. Krishnan noted that the initiative by CERT-In provides an invaluable platform for auditing organizations to refine their practices and share knowledge, ultimately contributing to a more resilient cyber environment in India.
Significance of the Conference
Dr. Sanjay Bahl, Director General of CERT-In, underscored the unique nature of this conference, stating it is the first of its kind globally tailored for the auditing community. He elaborated on CERT-In’s robust framework designed to enhance cybersecurity resilience across India’s digital landscape. This includes the empanelment of Information Security Auditing Organizations to conduct audits, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing. Bahl expressed confidence that the conference would facilitate discussions on new audit methodologies and case studies, thereby improving the skills and quality of audits conducted by participants.
Focus on Emerging Technologies and Cyber Resilience
Dr. Kamakoti Veezhinathan, Director of IIT-Madras, presented on the critical importance of cyber resilience, particularly in light of the increasing cyber threats targeting various sectors in India. He stressed the necessity for comprehensive frameworks and models to support cyber resilience initiatives among diverse stakeholders. Veezhinathan commended CERT-In for organizing the conference and expressed optimism that it would significantly enhance the capabilities of participating auditing organizations.

The conference also featured a panel discussion titled โCybersecurity Audits & Regulatory Expectations: Bridging the Gap,โ moderated by Shri S.S. Sarma, Director Operations at CERT-In. This session provided auditing organizations with actionable insights into regulatory expectations. Over the three days, the event will include parallel management and technical tracks, with more than 70 presentations covering topics such as human factors in auditing, governance frameworks, and emerging tools for automated audits. Participants will gain insights into the latest trends and methodologies shaping the future of cybersecurity audits, particularly in advanced technologies like AI, IoT, and blockchain.
