Vivo Launches Vision Headset at Boao Forum

Vivo has officially introduced its new mixed reality headset, the Vivo Vision, during the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2025 in China. This innovative device closely resembles Apple’s Vision Pro, which debuted in 2023. The prototype of Vivo Vision is set to be revealed in mid-2025 and will be part of the company’s Blue Technology Matrix, integrating AI technology for practical applications in daily life.
Details of the Vivo Vision Headset
The Vivo Vision was unveiled by Hu Baishan, Executive VP and COO of Vivo, at the ongoing Boao Forum. The design of this mixed reality headset shows significant inspiration from the Apple Vision Pro, which is currently available in select markets for approximately $3,499 (around Rs. 3 lakh). An image released by Vivo indicates that the headset will have a design reminiscent of ski goggles.
The headset features a visor equipped with multiple sensors, which are expected to facilitate various augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) functionalities. Additionally, two sensors located at the bottom of the frame may be utilized for hand and finger gesture tracking, enhancing user interaction. The thick headband design is similar to that of the Apple Vision Pro, suggesting a focus on comfort and stability during use.
While details about the headset’s operational capabilities remain unclear, it is yet to be determined whether the Vivo Vision will function independently or require a connection to a computer. As the launch date approaches, more information regarding its specifications and operating system is anticipated.
Vivo’s Robotics Lab and Future Innovations
In addition to the headset announcement, Vivo revealed the establishment of a new robotics lab aimed at advancing the development of robotic technologies. The lab will focus on creating the “brain” and “eyes” of robots, leveraging the real-time spatial computing capabilities derived from the Vivo Vision. This initiative highlights Vivo’s commitment to integrating cutting-edge technology into everyday applications.
Furthermore, Vivo teased the upcoming Vivo X200 Ultra smartphone during the forum, indicating a broader strategy to enhance its product lineup. The company’s focus on AI and robotics signifies a shift towards more intelligent and interactive devices, aligning with global trends in technology innovation.
Looking Ahead: What to Expect
While Vivo has not disclosed the pricing for the Vivo Vision headset, the prototype is expected to be unveiled in mid-2025. As the launch date nears, tech enthusiasts and industry experts are eager to learn more about the device’s features and capabilities. The announcement at the Boao Forum marks a significant step for Vivo as it aims to compete in the rapidly evolving mixed reality market.
