Union Ayush Minister Shri Sarbananda Sonowal inaugurated PCIM&H ‘e-office’ and online portal’

Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, Union Minister for Ayush and Ports, Shipping and Waterways, visited the Pharmacopoeia Commission for Medicine and Homeopathy of India (PCIM&H), Ghaziabad and inaugurated the “e-Office portal of PCIM&H” and the “online portal”. The online portal is for the sale of electronic copies of pharmacopeia monographs.

The Minister has inspected the laboratories viz. Pharmacognosy, phytochemistry, microbiology, herbal garden and raw drug storage of ASU&H drugs.

The Pharmacopoeia Commission for Indian Medicine & Homeopathy (PCIM&H) of the Ministry of Ayush is actively engaged in the standardization and quality control of Ayurvedic, Siddha, Unani and Homeopathic (ASU&H) medicines and is publishing the standards in the form of pharmacopoeias.

In his speech Shi Sarbananda Sonowal said that PCIM&H is doing an amazing job to maintain the quality of ASU&H medicines. He expressed his pleasure that PCIM & H has the team of learned scientists and technical personnel. He further stated that Yoga has been accepted by everyone globally and the practice of yoga is helpful in managing lifestyle diseases and also helps in preventing diseases.

Also present during his visit to PCIM&H were Dr. Kousthubha Upadhyaya, Ayush Ministry (Ayurveda) Advisor and Director, PCIM&H Dr. Raman Mohan Singh.

Shri Sarbananda Sonowal also inaugurated the “PCIM&H e-Office portal” and the “online portal”. This online portal is for the sale of electronic copies of pharmacopoeia monographs”. The online portal will promote the seamless reach of Pharmacopeia monographs among interested parties worldwide.

The Minister also released the monthly Newsletters published by PCIM&H. The PCIM&H newsletter presents the activities of PCIM&H and is also a way to update interested parties on new developments in the field of quality control and standardization of ASAU&H medicines.
