Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh to attend International Day of Yoga event onboard INS Vikrant at Kochi tomorrow

Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh will join Indian Navy personnel to perform yoga aboard the indigenously built aircraft carrier INS Vikrant on International Yoga Day tomorrow, 21 June 2023.

Admiral R Hari Kumar, Chief of Naval Staff; smt. The event will be attended by Kala Hari Kumar, President of the Naval Welfare and Wellness Association along with other senior officers of the Indian Navy and Ministry of Defence.

Armed Forces personnel, including Agniveers, will participate in the event embracing the spirit of unity and well-being. After the yoga session, the Raksha Mantri will speak to the gathering and congratulate the yoga instructors.

To mark the occasion, the Indian Navy will stream an exclusive video on outreach activities of the Indian Navy emphasizing the theme of ‘Ocean Ring of Yoga’, while the Indian Navy units deployed in the Indian Ocean region will visit various ports of foreign countries friends to spread the message of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” which is also the theme of IDY 23. It can be noted that it is the 9th year since the United Nations recognized June 21 as International Yoga Day through a resolution in 2014.

Later tomorrow, Raksha Mantri is also expected to inaugurate the Integrated Simulator Complex (ISC) ‘Dhruv’ at Southern Naval Command, Kochi. The ISC ‘Dhruv’ houses modern state-of-the-art home-built simulators which will significantly enhance hands-on training in the Indian Navy.
