His extensive experience includes acting as Secretary of Foreign Affairs for a brief period in 2017 and serving as Undersecretary for Policy at the Department of Foreign Affairs from April 2016 until July 2020.
Manalo’s diplomatic journey also includes significant roles abroad. He was the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the United Kingdom from September 2011 to April 2016 and represented the Philippines in Belgium and Luxembourg while heading the Philippine Mission to the European Union from February 2010 to September 2011. His earlier positions include serving as the Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the UN in Geneva and various roles at the Philippine Mission to the UN in New York.
