NeGD Organises its 38th CISO Deep Dive Training Programme Under MeitY’s initiative Cyber Surakshit Bharat

MeitY’s Cyber ​​Surakshit Bharat initiative was conceived with the mission of spreading awareness about cybercrime and developing the capacities of Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs) and frontline IT officials, across government departments, to ensure adequate security measures to combat the growing threat: Organizations need to defend their digital infrastructures and become future-ready in dealing with cyber-attacks.

The National e-Governance Division (NeGD), as part of its capacity building programme, organized the 38th CISO Deep-Dive Training Program lot of 24th-28th July 2023 at Central Academy for Police Training (CAPT), Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. The course was inaugurated with 23 participants from Madhya Pradesh, Tripura, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Odisha, Kerala, Telangana and Uttar Pradesh.

The purpose of the program is to spread awareness, build capacity, and empower government departments with the steps that need to be taken to create a cyber resilient ecosystem. This program aims to raise awareness and orient the participants on cyber security and safety in advancing the Digital India program for integrated delivery of various Govt. services to citizens, present holistic information, knowledge and understanding of cyber security, spread awareness, build capacity and empower government departments to take care of their own cyber hygiene, safety and security.

Launched in 2018, CISO training is the first partnership of its kind between government and industry consortium under the Public Private Partnership (PPP) model. From June 2018 to July 2023, NeGD effectively conducted 38 batches of CISO in-depth training programs for more than 1,464 CISO and frontline IT officers.
