Ministry of Ayush Launches Film Series – Ayush for All
The Ministry of Ayush has recently launched a film series titled “Ayush for All: Holistic Health Care through National Ayush Mission.” This initiative aims to highlight the significant advancements and transformative effects of the National Ayush Mission (NAM). The series was inaugurated by Shri Prataprao Jadhav, the Union Minister of State (IC) for the Ministry of Ayush and the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare. This launch reflects the government’s commitment to providing equitable, affordable, and holistic healthcare to every citizen, including those in the most remote areas of India.
The National Ayush Mission: A Comprehensive Overview
The National Ayush Mission (NAM) is a Centrally Sponsored Scheme designed to enhance Ayush healthcare services across the country. Its primary goals include promoting preventive care through Ayushman Arogya Mandir (Ayush) and integrating Ayush systems into mainstream public health. The mission also focuses on developing Ayush educational institutions to improve the quality of education and research in traditional medicine.
Since its inception, NAM has made remarkable strides. It has facilitated the establishment of 167 Integrated Ayush Hospitals and upgraded 416 existing Ayush hospitals. Additionally, 5,036 dispensaries have been improved under this initiative. The scheme has also benefited 2,322 Primary Health Centres (PHCs), 715 Community Health Centres (CHCs), and 314 District Hospitals (DHs) annually through co-location initiatives. Each year, essential Ayush medicines are supplied to 996 hospitals and 12,405 dispensaries. Furthermore, NAM has supported the creation of 16 new Ayush educational institutions and the upgrading of 112 others. The establishment of 3,883 Yoga Wellness Centres, 1,055 Ayush Grams, and 12,500 Ayushman Arogya Mandir (Ayush) facilities has promoted holistic wellness across the nation.

During the launch, the Minister emphasized the success of NAM in empowering communities with accessible and cost-effective healthcare based on traditional practices. He stated, “The National Ayush Mission has empowered communities to have accessible and cost-effective healthcare based on traditional practices.” The film series aims to make information about these initiatives readily available to the public. It showcases the pivotal role of Ayush in reducing the disease burden and promoting wellness throughout the nation.
The series features real-life stories of transformation, illustrating how NAM, in collaboration with state and Union Territory governments, has improved healthcare access and reduced out-of-pocket expenses for rural and underserved populations. This focus on community empowerment is crucial in ensuring that all citizens can benefit from the advancements in healthcare services.
Digital Outreach and Future Prospects
Ms. Kavita Garg, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Ayush, highlighted the importance of digital outreach in today’s world. She mentioned that the film series will be available on the official YouTube channel of the Ministry of Ayush. This move ensures that all citizens can conveniently access information about the initiatives and benefits of the National Ayush Mission.
